China has an elaborate education system, which is controlled by the state. There are numerous English schools in China and many private schools are also cropping up in China now. The emerging Chinese middle class want their children to learn English as more and more people wants their children to learn English. There are private schools and international schools in China. English is taught as a second language in many public schools also. There are many international schools in China where ESL teachers are hired for teaching all subjects.

Schools in China are equipped with good infrastructure and the ESL teachers are
given good money and other perks. The schools hire teachers both in rural and
the urban schools. While doing the TESOL course in China or teaching English
there, the teachers will also get a chance to learn Mandarin.
